As part of its continuous commitment to the concerns of widows and mothers of orphans, the Alhanane Association for the Care of Orphans, located in the Azrou district, organized on Sunday, October 12, an awareness meeting at the Community Center of Hay Al Arab – Aït Melloul, under the theme:
“True Citizenship… A Shared Responsibility.”
🧭 Main Themes: Citizenship in its Legal, Educational, and Social Dimensions
The meeting, which witnessed a large turnout of orphans’ mothers and their children, was devoted to discussing the concept of citizenship and the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, with a focus on the importance of exercising these freedoms within the framework of the law and respect for public order.
The event was moderated by a group of educational and security figures:
- Ms. Latifa Wanaïm, teacher at Al Mostaqbal Middle School,
- Mr. Hassan Chkib, former regional commissioner and former head of the Azrou Police District,
- Mr. Abdelkbir Azouin, deputy of the Intelligence Unit at the Aït Melloul Police Station.
Each of the speakers addressed, from their own perspective, the legal, educational, and social dimensions of responsible citizenship, emphasizing that freedom cannot be separated from the law, and that respect for public order and peace is a key pillar for ensuring the stability of society.
They also warned against illegal behaviors that may accompany unauthorized gatherings or marches, which could result in acts of vandalism or assaults on public and private property — clear violations of the laws regulating the right to peaceful demonstration.
👩👧 Mothers’ Voices and Audience Interaction
The meeting provided an open space for discussion, allowing widows to express the daily challenges they face in guiding and supporting their children in a changing social context.
Several participants showed a genuine desire to strengthen communication between families and educational as well as security institutions, in the best interest of the nation and its citizens.
The large attendance and active engagement of participants from different age groups reflected the importance of such awareness initiatives in promoting citizenship values among the younger generations.
🏅 Recognition and Appreciation
At the end of the meeting, the Alhanane Association for the Care of Orphans honored several key figures and partners in recognition of their valuable contributions to the success of the event.
Those honored included both educational and security representatives, along with civic actors who supported the association’s awareness and social initiatives.
Certificates of appreciation and symbolic gifts were presented in an atmosphere filled with gratitude and mutual respect.
🤝 Commitment to Continued Cooperation
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to continued collaboration between the Alhanane Association for the Care of Orphans and all civil, educational, and security stakeholders, aiming to strengthen the values of positive citizenship and shared responsibility within the local community, especially among youth.
The Alhanane Association for the Care of Orphans extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to all speakers, participants, and guests for their active involvement in the success of this awareness event.
It also expresses special gratitude to its organizing committees for their great effort and dedication, which contributed to the event’s success in an atmosphere of discipline and mutual respect.
